Highlights from Savannah

Hey y’all! I rang in the new year in Savannah with my boyfriend. We had a great time. The city is beautiful. The food was amazeballs, but after learning some of the history while on a carriage ride/tour, I’m not sure I’d go back. The city is super haunted because it was built upon the dead and that just really creeps me out. I felt like I may need holy water walking around there! There were ghost tours galore. But besides that, it was so beautiful!

My favorite part of the trip was the great food, but I ate so much seafood, I need a seafood timeout. Of course we had to eat at Paula Deen’s restaurant the Lady & Sons. It was delish! But our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so we didn’t eat as much as we planned, which I’m pretty bummed about because I had big plans to eat a lot! There also seemed to be some sort of dessert place on every corner! We came back with cupcakes, pralines, praline pecans…so much sugar!

There was also lots of shopping to be done, but I only bought a few things. My favorite purchase was peppermint soap from a local natural bath product shop called Nourish. Although I say I wouldn’t go back, if you twisted my rubber arm I probably would because we did have fun. We also walked a lot and saw beautiful homes. Be sure to visit Jones Street because it’s breathtakingly beautiful. If you’ve been, what were your highlights?
