So if you’ve been around for awhile, you know that I’m a self-proclaimed shoeaholic! I’m kind of ashamed to say that I exceeded the max of 15 pics while making this collage, which means I bought way more than 15 pairs of shoes this year 🙈
Here are some of my fav shoe purchases this year!
By far, my absolute fav was THE shoe, my first of hopefully many more Christian Louboutins. I’m still in love with them! My only complaint is that they now flop on my feet a little, but I don’t have buyer’s remorse and would buy another pair in a skinny minute!
Also this year I found my new fav site to shop for shoes, Hautelook. It’s amazeballs! The only thing is you have to buy whatever catches your eye when you see it because once it’s gone there’s no guarantee the deal will come back. The prices are also awesome! And best of all, you can return to your local Nordstrom Rack if you need to.
I did make an attempt to buy less shoes and even tried to go on a no new shoe buying fast, which only lasted a month, but because I’m all about finding a great deal, I don’t feel bad about buying more shoes! And life is short, just buy the shoes, that’s my mantra!
Fellow shoeaholics, what was your fav shoe purchase of the year?
This year I scratched off starting a blog from my to-do list! It’s been an awesome experience so far and I truly thank you all for your ongoing support! Whether you’re a regular reader or just visited a time or two, it means a lot!
Check out my first year review courtesy of my friends at WordPress. Cheers to an awesome 2016!
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 11,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

I mentioned months ago that I’ve been on a quest to find awesome mascara. I’ve tried both high-end and drugstore brands. Most recently I bought Loreal power volume 24hr and Covergirl lashblast length.
Both were underwhelming to say the least. I did like the Loreal better than the Covergirl, but I wouldn’t purchase either again. I’m a fan of super dark, blacker than black mascara so that was my issue with Covergirl, I could barely see it!
I’m usually a fan of Loreal mascaras, so I really had high hopes for this one. It’s not terrible, it’s ok for volume, but not so much for length. I’m now using it along with Loreal telescopic because I didn’t want it to go to waste. Combined they are pretty decent.
Please share your mascara recommendations! I’m still on the quest to find awesome mascaras, so please help!
If you haven’t caught on by now, I love shoes! More importantly I love a fabulous pair of heels! Today I’m wearing black and white, which is rare because I’m usually wearing bright colors. But, I had to add a pop of color, so I’m wearing an amazeballs pair of suede royal blue fringe pumps I ordered from Hautelook a few months ago.
They kinda look black in the pic, but they’re a really pretty royal blue. I had no idea I’d become such a fan of blue this year, but I dig it! I love a black and blue combo!
What colors do you like to wear to add a splash of color when wearing black and white? My all time fav is yellow. It looks so awesome with black and white!
Where I got it:
- Blouse: Express
- Skirt: Ross
- Shoes: Hautelook
During the cold weather months, I miss my sun kissed skin! But there’s a quick and easy way to get the glowy, sun-kissed look in the winter too!
While I’m always a fan of bronzer, I was looking for something new to try so I went by the MAC counter on Saturday. I asked the sales lady what do people use to get the glowy look and she recommended the creme colour base.
I got it in improper copper and I absolutely love it! A little goes a long way and I apply it with my fingers, although you could also use a brush, but the MAC lady told me to use my fingers, so that works for me!
It gives you a very nice glow. Today I didn’t use as much as I did yesterday, but I like the subtle glow for a daytime look and for night, I will use a little more.
If you’re unsure where to apply this type of product I found this to show you where to apply.
Do you love the sun-kissed look too, and what do you use?
Brown lippies seem to be all the rage right now. Everyone has jumped on the brown lippie bandwagon, but I’ve always had a thing for a good brown lippie.
I bought this one last year. It’s called Double Expresso by Milani.
I love it because it also has a slight shimmer to it. It’s not matte, but it’s not highly glossy either so I can live with it. Milani makes a good, affordable lippie that you can find in drugstores like CVS.
If you’ve been wanting to try a brown lippie, I’d definitely try this one. The good thing about brown, it looks good on everyone’s complexion! #winning
Do you have any brown lippies that you love?
Two things I love to wear when it’s cold, boots with a cute dress. I bought my first pair of over-the-knee boots a few months ago. I haven’t worn them much because they aren’t the most comfy, but I got a pair of gel ball of foot cushions and they have saved my boots from going into the sell pile! Whooohoooo!!!! If you’ve got a pair of shoes that are seriously uncomfy, try the gel ball of foot insoles, they work wonders!!!!
Here’s what I’m wearing today.
Where I got it:
- Dress: Ross
- Boots: Hautelook
By the way, I got the dress this weekend from Ross for only 9.99! #winning
What do you love to wear during fall/winter?
I’m a sucker for a Pinterest recipe or when I see one floating around on Facebook! So far, I haven’t found one that I didn’t like!
I saw this one posted on Facebook several times, and I always have it on my list of things to try, and I finally made it yesterday!
I made a few modifications. For one, I didn’t feel the need to make it in the crock pot, so I made mine on the stove. I also used chicken broth because my veggie broth had been tampered with and I didn’t want to take my chance of being poisoned, so I used chicken broth that I had on hand! I also used frozen spinach.
I put all ingredients in a large pot on medium heat until the cream cheese melted and then added the tortellini for the last five minutes or so since it doesn’t take much time to cook.
It maybe took about 45 minutes from start to finish. Here’s everything that I used, minus the veggie broth.
And here’s the final product. I’d definitely make it again, and I have plenty leftover for lunches for a few days this week. I love to make meals on Sundays that will last into the week!
Do you have any quick and easy recipes? If so please share!!!
To know me is to know that I love any excuse to wear a cute dress, combined with a chance to wear a cute dress to a holiday party, and I’m in heaven!
To know me is also to know that Ross is my fav place to shop! I find everything there from homegoods to jewelry, and everything in between! My Fridays off is my fav time to go, and now that the holidays are here, it seems like Fridays are now everyone else’s fav time to go because it was so crowded the other day!!!
I had two parties to go to this weekend, so I wanted to find a couple new dresses! Not that I didn’t already have something to wear…but like most other women, I couldn’t resist at least looking!
I found two super cute dresses for about $20 each! So ladies, do yourselves a favor, if you need a festive dress, head to Ross!
Are you a Ross shopper too? People are always telling me that they can never find anything there and are always in shock when I say what I’m wearing came from there, and how little it costs!
I do have to admit, not all stores are created equal. Some are a lot better than others. Some even have designer labels that you won’t see in other stores. I even spotted a cute Carmen Marc Valvo dress for 19.99 on Saturday!
So, don’t delay, head to Ross today and thank me later 😉
