Hey y’all! This year I’ve been super slack with blogging, but life happens, and I’ve been a little distracted. Anywho, I was looking for a way to protect my purse handles on my LV Speedy 30 bag because the leather can get so dirty and you have to be super careful with them. So careful that it’s annoying and I rarely carry it. But, I found a way to protect them, and add a cute, stylish look to your bag! I can’t take credit for this idea because I actually saw it by noticing someone else’s bag in a pic posted on Facebook. Then I went searching on eBay to find a cute scarf, and purse handle scarves actually exist! I paid $10 and got two pieces, one for each handle.
I only wish I had known this sooner because I could have saved mine from getting a little discolored. There’s also this YouTube video that shows you how to tie them on. I’m going to keep playing around with mine so that the scarf won’t be so long, but I love the look, and now I won’t be so worried about ruining my bag now!
Have you guys found other creative ways to protect your LV bag handles?
For the past few seasons, mules have been back in style yay! Some people hate them, some love them, and I’m one of the ones who love them! You just slide your feet in them and go! I’ve bought two new pair in the last couple of months. I’ll try not to buy anymore so that I don’t overdo it, as I usually do when I find something I love. Mules were popular of course in the 70’s, but again in the 90’s. I’m all for bringing something retro back!
These are by Express, by way of Rugged Wearhouse. Don’t turn your nose up at Rugged Wearhouse. It’s not the most organized place to shop, but you really can find some great things for a super low price. And who doesn’t like a bargain?!
So, what are you guys hoping will come back into style?
What could cure my blues…at least temporarily? Shoe shopping! Or any kind of shopping for that matter. It goes without saying, I LOVE shoes! The higher the heel, the better. They really do make your legs look amazeballs. So, a couple weeks ago, I was on the Belk website and decided to look at the shoes. It was my lucky day, because there was also an extra 40% off! I found two pair, for about $50. Then, a few days later while at the mall with a friend, I found another pair that I hadn’t seen online. If you’re not a regular Belk shopper, they often have an additional amount off clearance, and there’s almost always a coupon! So, here’s what I found.
Top left: OTK suede boots by New Direction. I believe this is Belk’s private brand.
Bottom left: suede lace up block heels. You can never go wrong with Steve Madden!
Right: super funky Jessica Simpson platform sandals. I so can’t wait to wear them!
I was on the site just yesterday, and there’s still clearance shoes left, so do yourselves a favor and check them out. Also check your local stores because they’ll have styles not listed online. Some larger stores even have a whole clearance shoe room! Let me know what you guys find!
Happy Wednesday y’all! It’s been a dreary, rainy week so far. And even a tornado warning as I’m typing this 😳 anywho, I haven’t mentioned any recent purchases from Jane.com lately because I haven’t bought anything! But every now and then I wander onto the site to see what I can find. They really do have the cutest jewelry and other rare finds, so be sure to check them out! I swear I need to stop procrastinating and get on the ball with affiliate links so that I can stop giving free press, but I get so excited about the awesome bargains I find, it’s hard not to share!
So, this is the necklace I found the other week, only 7.99 and hello free shipping!
I love the colors! I’m sure this one will be in heavy rotation because it will go with just about everything yay!
Have you guys shopped Jane.com lately? And what did you find?!
In case you were wondering, plaid is still a big trend for fall. I for one, did not jump on that bandwagon last year because plaid reminds me of a farmer, and I just didn’t find it all that cute. I have seen a few cute plaid print coats, but I just couldn’t see myself in anything else plaid. Well, a few weeks ago, I was at my happy place Ross, and I happened to see a cute plaid dress, it was only 9.99, I figured I had nothing to lose by buying it, and seeing if I could put together a cute plaid look for the fall! I wore this to work on yesterday. Besides cute, it was also super comfy!
I ended up wearing it with the sleeves rolled up after I had taken this pic. I wore it with the same ankle boots I was gushing over the other day when I posted about another cute bell sleeve dress I also found at, you guessed it, Ross! Hey Ross peeps, if you’re reading this, you guys should seriously think about adding me to your payroll because I’m always bragging about my awesome Ross finds!
Are you guys in love with plaid, or do you hate it?
I’m still a little sad that summer, otherwise known to me as shorts season has come and gone. It’s now time for pants, leggings, jeans, and tights. I am a smidgen excited to start wearing my fall clothes. I have a love/hate relationship with jeans. When I find a good pair I love them, but it’s like finding a unicorn when you find a good pair. When you’re curvy, you’ve gotta deal with finding a pair that fits everywhere including the waist so that you can keep your butt crack covered when you sit and bend over, and when you’re short you’ve gotta find the right length! It’s just a never ending search! But I think I’ve found a winner.
The brand is d. jeans. You can find them at places like Ross, TJ Maxx, and Burlington. I have nothing bad to say about them so far. They fit great, the length is right, and oh yeah, they’re cheap!
The pair I’m wearing today are extra cute because they’re frayed at the hem and I love anything fringed or frayed! I found them on the clearance rack at Ross for $12. I also already had the same pair in a lighter wash. They’re also high wasted which I love because I hate having to constantly pull up my jeans!
Oh yeah, the amazeballs shirt I’m wearing also came from Ross. It’s my new fav top and it was only $12. So my entire outfit is less than $25! I told y’all I love a good deal!
Have you guys tried this brand before? If no, then you totally should! You can thank me later!
Well it’s officially fall but it still feels like summer, so I’m wearing my shorts until the bitter end! And not to toot my own horn, but I’ve put in some serious work on my legs this year, and I just don’t want to put them away just yet 😂
My outfit today cost me about $20. I live for a good deal! The shirt I bought for about $12 during the Dillard’s New Year’s Day sale and the shorts were DIY denim cut offs I made myself. I bought the jeans for $6 at Goodwill.
Are you guys sad to see the warm weather go bye bye too? I am looking forward to fall so that I can wear my cute coats/jackets, but for now, while I can you can catch me in my shorts ✌🏽️
So far this summer I have lived in anything off the shoulder and denim cut off shorts. It’s been sooooooo hot, I just want to wear the least amount of clothes as possible…while still looking classy of course!
Today I’m wearing a top I found online at Target. I absolutely love it! I only wish I had gotten a small instead of a medium because it runs a little large.
I found the shorts last year at Burlington, but you could totally make your own! I made a pair last weekend.
What are you guys obsessed with this summer?
To know me is to know that I love shorts…and I like them short! Hey, why work so hard in the gym on your legs if you’re just going to hide them! And hello, it’s summer, and I’m allergic to pants in the summer 😎
Of course I’m a southern girl, we love our cut off shorts. I have a couple pair right now that I bought, but I just thought it would be more fun to make my own…and making your own means you can make them as short as you want! To get started, all you need is chalk to mark where you want to cut them, a ruler to make a straight line with the chalk, and scissors to cut.
First, put the jeans on and mark with the chalk where you want to cut. Be sure to remember they will fray in the wash, so keep that in mind when deciding where you want to cut because they’ll end up a little shorter than where you cut.
Take the jeans off and make a straight line with the ruler and chalk. After you cut them, you’ll want to pull a few strings to make sure they fray the way you want in the wash.
That’s it! I may go back to make some slits and holes later, but I think they turned out amazeballs! Can’t wait to make more!
I’m not a thrifter, but I love a good deal, so a few weeks ago I visited the new Goodwill Boutique here in Charlotte. It was a super cute store set up just like a boutique. I didn’t find much, just a top and a vase, but I’ve since put both to good use!
I’m wearing the blouse today. It is super colorful and I love it! I feel like I’m pretty much wearing every color there is, I’m probably not matching by most people’s standards, but I like it, so who cares!
I think I paid 3.99 for the top. Now I want to go back to find jeans to make some cute new shorts. Have you guys been to a Goodwill Boutique before?
