Beware of online shopping at Lord & Taylor

Hey y’all! It’s been a minute, but goodness I’ve been busy. Work, trying to lose weight, working out, visiting my family…blah blah blah. But I had to share a recent experience, and I hope it’ll save you future issues. Do you shop at Lord & Taylor? I don’t have one near me, so when I visit a place that does, I normally walk through and admire the fashion. I’ve never purchased anything, until recently. I’m getting married soon, and was looking for a dress to wear for my wedding. It had to be short. And it had to be not overly dressy, since we’re not doing a full on, big wedding production. So I found some cute options online at Lord & Taylor. I ordered a total of three.

Since I wasn’t familiar with the brands I chose, I wasn’t sure about sizing. I returned the first one, followed by the other two. They were all too small. It was a horrible experience with the return process. I sent the dress back the very next day. Weeks went by and I didn’t hear anything. So I happened to call only to find out the dress was being sent back to me because they said it was not in sale-able condition. I was like what?? They claimed it had an odor. Impossible! I didn’t even try it on, AND I don’t stink!

I got the dress back and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I ended up both filing a BBB complaint and filing a dispute with my credit card company. So, I did end up getting my money back, but because this happened, I’m never shopping there again. Ever. When I filed the complaint, I also saw hundreds of others with similar stories. I wish I had known that in the beginning. So, buyer beware if you’re shopping with them online. Just don’t do it if there’s a smidgen of a chance you may need to return.
