Over the knee boots have been around for awhile now. At first I was skeptical about buying a pair because in my mind they were street walker boots, but the more I saw them on others they grew on me!
It took me a few purchases and returns to find a pair that I loved, but I finally found a winner! I ordered them from Hautelook. They’re by Michael Antonio. They look more expensive than they were, which is always a plus!
Over the knee boots are awesome because you can wear them with anything from jeans to skirts and dresses. You can jazz up any look by adding a pair! I just got mine a couple days ago so I haven’t been able to test them out yet for comfort and it also hasn’t been consistently cold enough for me to bust out the boots yet!
Do you have a pair and what do you love to wear them with? I’m super excited to wear mine…if we could actually get out of the 70s here in Charlotte for more than a day!
It’s fall, which means it’s boots and booties time!!! Booties are awesome because they’re so versatile! You can wear them with skirts, dresses, leggings…really anything!
Not that I needed another pair, but I saw this pair on Hautelook.com a few weeks ago and I had to have them! Why? They’re just amazeballs! If you haven’t shopped Hautelook yet, do yourself a favor and check them out!!! You can thank me later 😀
Here’s my newest pair of booties! I just got them a couple days ago, so I haven’t gotten to wear them yet. It’s also 80 degrees here in Charlotte, so I’m not thinking about boots today!
I can’t wait until our fall weather returns so that I can wear them! Have you shopped Hautelook yet and what’s your fav pair of booties or boots?
Now that I have come to terms with the fact that fall is here and summer is gone, I’m ready to fully embrace all things fall! I’m a huge nail polish addict, so that includes new nail colors for me! My love of nail polish goes back to high school. I was that girl who would redo her nails every night so that they match my outfit! I’m not into matchy-matchy now, so I don’t take it to that extreme anymore, but I still can’t stand chipped polish!
Anyway, I got a mani/pedi on Saturday but before I went I stopped by Sally’s to get a new color! Am I the only weirdo who brings their own polish??? The main reason I bring my own is because I can fix my chipped polish and extend my pedi!
I love dark colors in the fall for both nail polish and lippies! I got Naughty by Orly and I love it! It’s a really dark brownish/red and it looked awesome on both my hands and toes!
My only complaint is that I just got my nails done on Saturday and they were super chipped by Monday! I’m not blaming it on the nail polish, because nothing stays on my nails longer than a couple days no matter what I use, including gel polish. Anybody have any tips for extending nail polish wear? I feel like I’ve tried every base and top coats known to man!
So what are some of your fav fall nail colors?
Two things I love a lot, leopard print and leggings! So, when this top I’m about to show you caught my eye, I knew exactly what I’d wear it with. The high low trend isn’t new, I remember buying a couple pieces last year, but they weren’t my fav. But this top, I just had to have.
I wore it with leggings but I think it would also look amazeballs with shorts and jeans. Now that it’s fall, I guess I’ve missed the window to wear with shorts, but I’ll definitely be wearing it again soon with jeans. I also love that it can be dressed up or down. I actually wore this to a cider festival last night and felt a little over dressed. But my motto is, why buy clothes if not to wear them?! So, who cares if you go some place and you’re a little overdressed!
What do you think of the high low trend? Honestly, it’s not really my thing, but who says no to anything leopard print, right?!

It was a cool, wet, rainy weekend here in Charlotte thanks to Joaquin! Thank God we were spared any major flooding, but my home state of SC wasn’t so lucky. Please keep everyone being affected by the storm in your prayers!
Because I spent most of my time at home this weekend, and it was perfect comfort food weather I decided to make a big pot of veggie soup. And by big pot I mean enough to feed a small army! Seriously! I don’t know what I was thinking…
Anywho if you love veggie soup, you’ll love this quick and easy recipe! And the best part, you only need a few ingredients!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 bag frozen veggies (or soup mix veggies if you can find them.) My mixed veggies had carrots, corn, peas, and green beans. Sometimes I even dice a few potatoes to throw in the pot.
- 1 box macaroni
- 1 large can crushed tomatoes
- 1 small can tomatoe paste
- 1 lb ground turkey (or beef if you like)
- 1 small white onion
- Chop onion and combine with ground turkey. Also add your favorite seasonings to meat. I used Accent, onion powder, garlic powder, and seasoned salt.
- Brown ground turkey and drain. Set aside.
- In a large pot, combine crushed tomatoes, tomatoe paste, meat, and frozen veggies.
- Fill empty crushed tomatoe can with water and add to pot.
- Bring to boil.
- Simmer for about an hour and continue to stir.
- Add macaroni and cook for about 3 more minutes.
- Turn off the eye you’re cooking on and let sit but continue to stir.
- The pasta will continue cooking so be sure to watch to make sure it doesn’t overcook.
- You may find that you now need more liquid so add more water if needed.
- Taste and see if more seasoning is needed, if so add more.
That’s it! Simple and absolutely delish! When you make it, let me know what you think! My mom passed this recipe on to me, so thanks mom! 💋
For the last year or so, I’ve seen the big bow shoe pop up while scrolling through Facebook. I’d stop scrolling to check them out constantly, but wasn’t sure if I really liked the ginormous bow. A couple months ago, I saw them online at DSW and almost ordered, but when I realized the fuschia was really red, I passed.
Then one day I happened to be looking on hautelook.com and saw them, and for an unbeatable price! So, I just had to order! I went with taupe, but now I wish I had gotten them in black and royal blue too!
The ginormous bow isn’t as big as they looked online, so I was pleasantly surprised! I love them! And they’re quite comfy…I think, just got them yesterday, so I’ve only worn them around the house. If you’re on the fence about this shoe, just get them already, trust me, you’ll love them too!
If you’re unfamiliar with Hautelook, it’s a Nordstrom company, so the quality is awesome! You can even make returns at your local Nordstrom Rack. I’ve been thrilled with all of my purchases and the prices have been awesome!
My big bow shoes were around $20! The only thing is, you have to buy when you see it, because once it’s gone it’s gone and there’s no guarantee the item will come back. And it takes a few weeks after you order to get your items, but so far everything I’ve ordered was worth the wait!
Do you shop Hautelook? What are some of your fab finds?
