First of all, why am I even discussing zits when I’m almost 40? Yet here I am! I get the occasional zit, nothing major. But when I do, they’re usually big, annoying, and will leave a scar behind. Luckily, I found something that will zap them within a couple days. While if left alone, they will linger a lot longer!
This is the Target brand acne spot treatment. I don’t remember exactly how much it cost, but I’m thinking around $5. Try it, and thank me later!
Do you guys still get zits too? And what do you do to zap them?
Hey y’all! I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! I don’t think I’m feeling the cooking this year, so I think we’ll be dining at Cracker Barrel! Anywho, what’s been on my mind lately beauty-wise? Foundation. I’ve been a MAC studio fix C6 girl for years. I’m satisfied but every time it’s time to purchase a new one, I get the itch to try something new. Hence the previous post where I told you guys I didn’t love the Fenty foundation. But alas, instead of finding new foundation I found an amazeballs primer and setting powder.
Becca primer is just simply amazing. It provides a super smooth and illuminating surface for your makeup. It is a little pricey, this travel size was $18, but worth every penny.
In the last few years, I’ve fallen in love with setting spray, but when I tried this Kat Von D setting powder, I was so jazzed! I also got the travel size of this for $15.
I love to sparkle, so I love that it has a hint of shimmer.
It’s probably not a dramatic difference to everyone else, but I can definitely see the difference in the look of my makeup and for now, I’m satisfied!
Have you guys tried any new products that you love lately?
Hey y’all! Hope you all had an amazing weekend. Mine was great, but exhausting, so I’m writing this while in bed already! So, I’ve been wanting to try a new foundation for the longest. I’ve been a faithful MAC girl for years. I still like my studio fix, but I’ve just been itching to try something different. After many recommendations and so much hype, I decided to try Fenty Beauty’s foundation. First of all, I’m a powder foundation girl, so a liquid was already a stretch for me. But I tried it anyway. Yes I know I should have just gotten a sample first, but I had such high hopes that I bought it…and now I’ll be returning it.
I was told that 350 was my match…but it’s a little off. A little too dark, and I’m not crazy about the matte finish. I like to look a little more luminous. Maybe I should try another person to match me to give it another go, but I’m just not sold on it. I have no other lines to compare it to because I don’t use liquid, but I will say it was easy to apply and dried quickly. I used a beauty blender to apply.
Have you guys tried Fenty yet? What did you think? Also if you have any powder foundation recommendations, please let me know!
Hey y’all! Hope you’re all having an amazeballs week so far. We’ve made it to hump day, whoooohoooo! So, last Friday I was on my way to a concert and realized I had left my lipstick at home when I switched purses. I stopped at a CVS along the way, and found the most amazing red lippie. It’s now my new fav! At least for me, it has been a struggle to find a brown girl friendly red. And I’ve tried many!
This one is by Milani and it’s called confident. It’s matte, which I love. And I have nothing bad to say about Milani lippies. For the price, only 6.99, they are awesome. They are long-wearing and just an overall good product. I’m more of a deep red kinda girl, and this one is perfect. More good news, I just saw earlier this week that Milani cosmetics are coming to Ulta! I’m Super excited because CVS doesn’t carry the entire line, and I’ve been dying to try their finishing spray.
Have you guys tried Milani lippies? Do you have a fav shade?
Sunday nights have turned into beauty treatment night at my house! Tonight I tried something new. A couple months ago, I placed my first order from La Vita Lush. I ordered a body butter and eye shadow, but received a few other products complimentary, including this mud mask!
This stuff looks and smells good enough to eat. The coffee smell made me sad that I couldn’t buy my new Keurig this weekend 😔 I ended up having to buy a new vacuum instead, because mine decided to die! Anyway, this stuff smells heavenly. I applied it and then got into the shower, then rinsed afterwards. I love that it has actual coffee grinds (or something that was exfoliating) and I scrubbed my face as I rinsed. My skin felt amazeballs afterwards. I actually want to scrub my whole body in this stuff now!
The creator of this line, LeKesha Benson is also from my hometown. So, not only are southern girls cute as a button and sweet as pie, we’re also super talented! You guys should definitely check her products out! From what I understand, they’re also all natural.
Have you guys tried any good beauty products lately? Do tell!!!
Hey y’all! I’m still at it, trying to find the holy grail of mascaras. A few weeks ago, I purchased a new one by L’Oréal, voluminous lash paradise. In waterproof of course! The verdict: I love it! If I take the time to precisely apply it, and after 3 coats, my lashes do look pretty darn fab.
I believe I paid about $8 for it. The packaging is almost identical to Too Faced Better Than Sex, and from what I remember when I tried that one, it’s also very similar, so if you’re looking for dupes, this may be one!
Of course, I’ll still be on the mascara prowl, but this one is pretty darn good. I like it more than just a little, so it’ll stay on the list 😊
Have you guys tried any good mascaras lately?
Hey y’all! I’m not even going to apologize for being a slack blogger again…what can I say, LIFE happens! Anywho, I wanted to share an update of sorts. Months ago I wrote about whitening teeth with activated charcoal. I’m excited to share that I’ve mastered not making a huge mess! The secret? Dip wet toothbrush in charcoal and then squeeze a dab of toothpaste on the brush. That’s it!
And also, just be mindful of how you brush, and no more messes! The mess is actually what kept me from using it more often!
As a reminder, here’s what I use and it was purchased on Amazon.
While my teeth aren’t super duper white, I’m happy with the results.
I brush with the charcoal a couple times a week. I also notice how more clean my teeth feel after brushing with the charcoal. I’ve never asked my dentist if this is safe or not, so don’t come for me. I’d suggest asking a dental professional about this if you’re concerned.
Have you guys tried this yet? And, any other whitening tips that you’ve come across?
Hey y’all! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Nowadays it seems like every day is a national day of something and on Saturday it was both national lipstick and chicken wing day! I kinda love these made up days of celebration because I see it as a day that others co-sign on something I wanted to do anyway, like eat chicken wings! While I did eat the wings, I didn’t shop for new lipstick. I got caught up in the hype of the free lipstick offer from MAC, got to the mall only minutes after they opened…and they were already gone! That really did burst my bubble, so I was no longer in the mood to even browse. But I did find one a couple weeks ago that I absolutely love, and wanted to share with you guys.
If you haven’t noticed a trend, I’m starting to love Sephora! Ulta has always been my makeup happy place, but I’m really loving Sephora at the moment. The biggest reason is that you can get a free sample of anything in the store! So, back to the lipstick. I’m loving the cream lip stains. I now have three of them, and this is the latest one I’ve purchased. The color is bohemian purple.
I love both the pigmentation and these are very long-wearing. They dry into a matte finish. A lot of mattes are drying, but this one isn’t. Here’s what it looks like on.
I just can’t say enough about how much I love these. I wish I could have them all! They’re also affordable at $14 each. Have you guys tried these before? Which color do you love the most? Let me know because I’m totally obsessed and can’t wait to try more colors!
Hey y’all! Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th! I visited my mom in SC for the day, and on the way home from dinner, I got my first speeding ticket! Womp womp! Other than that, it was great. So, I’m in love with a new product. Well I don’t know how new it is but I just discovered it. I live for a good glow, so I’m so excited about it! It’s called nude glow by Sephora. It’s a setting spray and I paid $20. A little pricey I think for such a small package, but definitely worth it.
It’s an aeresole mist. You have to be careful about over spraying because you can’t feel it going on, and if you spray too much, you end up looking greasy!
This pic is from Sunday, the first day I used it. I thought I was a little heavy handed with it, but I still loved the look.
You guys should definitely try this stuff!
Hey y’all! Hope everyone is having an amazeballs week. I’m happy that my week is better than last, and back to normal. Anywho, I was in Ulta over the weekend because I needed new sponges, but of course I had to look around! A friend and I had been talking about metallic lippies. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them, and I definitely didn’t want to spend much, so I was thrilled when I spotted the LA Girl display. I can’t remember all of the colors, but I remember they were mostly golds and bronzes. This is the one I went with. It’s called galvanize.
It’s a beautiful bronze and I absolutely love it! It looks great with my skin tone, and y’all, this thing stayed on my lips all day! I took it off to brush my teeth at lunch, but if I hadn’t, it would have lasted.
I’ll definitely go back for more. They’re only $5, you can’t beat it. Have you guys tried these, or any other LA Girl products? I think I’m a new fan. I can’t wait to go back to see what else they have!
