Pattern hair products review

Hey y’all! It’s been awhile and no excuses, I’ve just been lazy! I even almost didn’t write this blog and made an IG post instead. As a writer at my full time job, I guess sometimes I do get tired of writing 😂 anywho I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start, and if you’ve been coming here to check for new content, I’m sorry! I’ll do better.

Speaking of how the new year is going. Mine has sucked pretty bad. And per usual, it’s because of things I have no control over and not personally my problems, but because I care, I let other people’s problems affect me. Really praying the latter is greater because so far 2024 ain’t it!

So, per usual I’m always trying new hair products, and then finding I shoulda stuck with what I know works. This time I tried Pattern. Ulta was having a BOGO sale on minis, so I figured I’d give it a shot since I didn’t have to spend much. I got the gel and mousse. I love a good mousse. My hair seems to like mousses over gels. I use both for wash & goes sometimes, so that’s what I did with Pattern.

I will say at first, based on look & feel, my hair looked great I had super high hopes just by looking at it once it was dry. I wash my hair at night, so day 1 to me is the next morning. When I took my bonnet off and fluffed my curls, I was like wow, it looks amazeballs! Hubby even thought it looked good, and he’s always got jokes about my curls. It also smelled soooooo good! But as the day went on, I got a little frizz. Maybe I should have used more product, and I’ll do that this week to see what happens.

Today is day 2, I’m still in bed typing this so I don’t know what’s happening under my bonnet 😂 but I don’t have high hopes for today. I’m expecting a lot of frizz and I’m hoping I can refresh with a little water and product. We shall see!

I heard from a couple of friends who love Pattern, and I’m not saying they’re wrong, but I like my wash & goes to last longer than a day, so at the moment I’m not super impressed. I do like that my curls were soft & bouncy, and my hair isn’t crunchy. But I’m not sold just yet. Next week I’ll try it again, maybe this time with just the mousse and no gel. Some gels make my hair feel dry and it frizzes fast, so maybe that’s what’s wrong.
