Grey lipstick for a daytime look

Grey lipstick for work? Sure, well in my book anyway. I tried a grey lippie a few months ago when the NYX liquid suedes came out last year. I liked it, but it was just soooooo dark, I only wore it once, and at night because I was afraid to wear it during the day. So, I’ve had my eyes peeled for a different one that wasn’t so dark. I found one that I love!

I got it on Saturday at Ulta and couldn’t wait to wear it today! It’s NYX matte ultra dare. I think it looks awesome, but I’m sure some people thought I looked like I had smoker’s lips today!  Are you a fan of grey lippies? Have you found one that you love?

Easter side dish: scalloped potatoes

I don’t think I’ve ever shared with you guys here, but I LOVE potatoes! I’ve never met a potato I didn’t like. In my Bubba from Forrest Gump voice, I like them boiled, fried, diced…I just love them! French fries are my fav food, I could eat them everyday and I actually did eat them everyday in college!

Anyway, although not in my family growing up, I hear that scalloped potatoes are a popular Easter side dish and I found the perfect recipe. It’s easy, and they taste amazeballs!

I make them often. This pic is from last Sunday. I had them with an amazing chicken recipe that I saw on Facebook called hasselback chicken. They are a great side dish for pretty much any meal, but I thought I’d share since you may be looking for recipes for your Easter dinner!

If you make them, let me know what you think!

Bio oil: empty bottle report

So, if you’re new to my blog, I love beauty products and will try anything at least once! And when a beauty product claims to lighten dark spots and scars, I’m all in!

For the past few months, I’ve been battling acne, grrrrrrrrr!!!! Any little pimple that I get leaves a blemish so I’ve been looking for a product that helps lighten the scars.

The latest product I’ve tried is bio oil. I’ve been using it for a few months now and I do have to say it works wonders! My blemishes are nearly gone, yessssss!!!! I’m also using it on a few random scars and I can see that they’re also much lighter! I’m also finding that this product works pretty quickly, which is amazeballs!

And, if you need a celebrity endorsement, I saw this article where the Kardashians swear by this stuff. The claims on the bottle say that it’s good for scars, stretch marks, and dry skin. I can only vouch for the scars, but I may try it on stretch marks too when I buy a new bottle.

You can find it in most stores and pharmacies for about $10. Have you tried this product before and what do you think?

Color blocking with pink and green

For obvious reasons, because I belong to the best sorority in the world, AKA, I’m kind of partial to pink and green! But besides that, I love the pink and green color combination. It’s bright, springy, and super pretty on all skin tones.

I don’t know if color blocking is a big thing anymore like it was a few years ago, but I still do it! If you love color like I do, then you definitely need to color block! It’s super easy, just choose two colors that look good together, and just like that, you’re color blocking!

I have quite a bit of pink and green in my closet, but here’s what I’m wearing today.

So, these shoes are amazeballs! I got them at Dillard’s during the New Year’s Day sale, and I’ve been patiently waiting to wear them! Surprisingly they are so comfy! I wish I had also gotten them in black.  Do you also love color blocking? And what’s your fav color combos? I also love orange and green! Sounds odd, but it’s super pretty!

Results of drinking apple cider vinegar for a month

For the last few years, I’ve been on a serious working out and eating healthier health kick. My endurance has improved, I’ve toned a little…but I wasn’t losing much weight, which frustrated me to no end!!!! For years I’ve heard about people taking the Bragg brand of apple cider vinegar and losing weight. So, about a month ago, a friend posted about it on Facebook and I decided to jump on the bandwagon!

After a month, here’s what happened to my body:

  • Weight loss

I’m down 8 lbs so far, yipppeeeee!!!!! Now, I was already exercising 3-4 days a week, so don’t expect to lose without also working out and eating right.

  • More energy

I’m way less tired during the day, which is a great added bonus!

  • Regular bowel movements

I really think the reason this helps you lose weight is because it really helps to clean you out if you know what I mean! I was already pretty regular, but now I’m even more regular!

  • Clearer skin

My skin has cleared tremendously! For the last few months I’ve been battling acne and acne scarring, ugh! I’m also using Bio-oil for the scars, but I’ve definitely noticed a huge difference in the last month. The scars are almost gone, yay!

Here’s how I take mine, you can google all kinds of recipes but I add 2 tbsps of ACV to about 4 oz of hot water with a smidgen of raw honey. Right now I’m doing this in the morning and evening. The taste…well you get used to it is all I can say!

There are tons of articles you can read if you don’t believe me. Here’s one that I found useful.

Have you tried this before? I was skeptical at first, but now I’m a believer!

Easy chicken pot pie recipe

Lately I’ve had a craving for chicken pot pie. I don’t know why because I haven’t had any in years, and never the homemade kind, but I decided to make my own this weekend. I’m really getting to where I prefer to cook my meals instead of eating out. Mainly because I like to know what’s in my food.

I found a great recipe from Pillsbury. I followed the recipe exactly except I used Birdseye frozen veggies instead of the steamers. I also added a little more broth. It turned out awesome!

Chicken pot pie is a great comfort food and since it’s just me, I have leftovers for a few days so I don’t have to cook, yay!
What are some of your fav comfort foods that you like to make?

Nothing says spring like pretty lippies!

Although I’m sad to see winter go because I didn’t get to wear all of my fav winter wear due to the unseasonably warm winter we had at the beginning, but as my mom would say, “get over it,” so I’m now looking forward to spring! I started digging out my fav lippies for spring over the weekend.

Here are a few that I’m looking forward to wearing!

From left to right: Wet n Wild just peachy, MAC heroine, MAC pink plaid, MAC men love mystery, NYX high voltage play date, NYX high voltage twisted, Wet n Wild mauve outta here, Maybelline colorsensational orchid ecstasy.

I’m sure I’ll be adding some new favs just as soon as I start shopping for new lippies again. Sidebar, I’ve been trying to cut back on shopping, so far it’s been going well, but I’ll probably fall off the wagon soon 😁

What are some of your fav lippie colors to wear for spring?
