So far this summer I have lived in anything off the shoulder and denim cut off shorts. It’s been sooooooo hot, I just want to wear the least amount of clothes as possible…while still looking classy of course!
Today I’m wearing a top I found online at Target. I absolutely love it! I only wish I had gotten a small instead of a medium because it runs a little large.
I found the shorts last year at Burlington, but you could totally make your own! I made a pair last weekend.
What are you guys obsessed with this summer?
To know me is to know that I love shorts…and I like them short! Hey, why work so hard in the gym on your legs if you’re just going to hide them! And hello, it’s summer, and I’m allergic to pants in the summer 😎
Of course I’m a southern girl, we love our cut off shorts. I have a couple pair right now that I bought, but I just thought it would be more fun to make my own…and making your own means you can make them as short as you want! To get started, all you need is chalk to mark where you want to cut them, a ruler to make a straight line with the chalk, and scissors to cut.
First, put the jeans on and mark with the chalk where you want to cut. Be sure to remember they will fray in the wash, so keep that in mind when deciding where you want to cut because they’ll end up a little shorter than where you cut.
Take the jeans off and make a straight line with the ruler and chalk. After you cut them, you’ll want to pull a few strings to make sure they fray the way you want in the wash.
That’s it! I may go back to make some slits and holes later, but I think they turned out amazeballs! Can’t wait to make more!
I’ve been blessed with having great skin most of my life, but since we can’t have it all, I have terrible dark circles under my eyes 😫 Actually if it weren’t for the circles, I would skip foundation all together. But since there’s always a solution to every problem, concealer to the rescue!
I’ve tried many concealers over the years, and I like liquids more than other forms. Liquids tend to not settle in the lines under my eyes or look cakey, so yay!
I’ve also found that the secret is using a good brush! Eco tools makes great brushes and for cheap! The new one I’m using now was only about $5 at Ulta and I have to say, it’s the best one I’ve ever had. It’s even better than the one I spent probably 3 times more for at the MAC counter!
It’s called the bamboo deluxe concealer brush. I’m telling you, you’ll love it if you try it!
Do you have a fav concealer brush? And if you’ve tried this one, let me know what you think!
I’m not a thrifter, but I love a good deal, so a few weeks ago I visited the new Goodwill Boutique here in Charlotte. It was a super cute store set up just like a boutique. I didn’t find much, just a top and a vase, but I’ve since put both to good use!
I’m wearing the blouse today. It is super colorful and I love it! I feel like I’m pretty much wearing every color there is, I’m probably not matching by most people’s standards, but I like it, so who cares!
I think I paid 3.99 for the top. Now I want to go back to find jeans to make some cute new shorts. Have you guys been to a Goodwill Boutique before?
I don’t know what it is, but every time I see a dress with bell sleeves, I have to have it! Maybe because they remind me of the 60s/70s, and I love everything about clothes from that era.
So, if you remember a few months ago, I wrote a blog about how I love ugly patterns! This was one of the dresses I talked about, and I finally wore it on Sunday. I actually had forgotten I had it 😁 And in case you’re wondering, yes I did wear this to church. Who says you have to dress like a grandma at church anyway?!
It actually is a really pretty dress, and it’s shimmery! Even better I got it for only about $15 from Hautelook. If you guys haven’t shopped Hautelook, you’re seriously missing out on some amazeballs deals!
Are you guys crazy about bell sleeves too? I saw a similar dress in Ross this weekend, and now I’m so mad at myself for not buying it!
One of the things I do best is sleep! I’d probably even prefer sleeping over eating, and that’s saying something since I love food so much!
Besides my love of fashion, I also love to decorate my home and I’m always perusing the home decor section at my happy place, Ross. I spotted a Ross while visiting my sister on Saturday, and of course I had to stop by! Glad I did because it was a good one. All Ross stores are not created equal. There are some that I never find anything at, so I do get what people are saying when they tell me they never find the things that I do at Ross.
I wasn’t planning on buying new bedding, but I also couldn’t pass up an amazeballs deal! In my head, I was seeing some kind of orange, paisley combo, and my vision came to be, so I’m super excited!
Style and fashion doesn’t have to just stop at clothing. I’m a firm believer that your personal style should also be reflected in your home. I love color, and you can definitely tell when you come into my home. It’s kind of like a box of crayons threw up, but I love it!
What are some of your fav colors that you love to decorate with. I love orange, green, and yellow…well pretty much any color 😊
