I’m a woman and we love to change our hair. Hair is of course your best accessory! This year I’ve decided I’m embarking on the natural hair journey. I don’t want to do the big chop, so I figured I’d grow my relaxer out instead. In order to keep my hair from looking too crazy, while managing two different hair textures, I’ve been trying some new hairstyles that keep me from having to fuss with my hair. And of course, I keep my phony ponies on stand by!
Left to right: crochet hair, braided pony, and jumbo lemonade braids. The crochet lasted about 6 weeks, the braided pony for one week, and I just got the braids, so the jury is still out. I’ll have to report back.
Hair is so much fun, at least when it looks good. I can’t wait to try more styles, and when the relaxer finally grows out so that I can see what my natural kinks and curls look like! Also if you have any transitioning tips, do tell! So far, it’s been 5 months since I’ve had a relaxer. I’m getting to the stage where it’s looking a smidgen crazy with the puffy roots and straight ends. I could use some tips from the pros.
